Lokayukta Inspects Boys Hostel, Finds Overcrowding and Poor Hygiene
Imagine a big house for students that's supposed to have only a certain number of people.
But when the student house inspector visited, they found way too many students living there!
The rooms were so crowded that some students had to sleep on the floor.
The bathrooms were also very dirty, and the cleaning staff wasn't cleaning them enough.
The food wasn't very good, and the cooking pots were not clean either.
The inspector told the staff to clean more often and meet with the students to hear their problems.
They are also looking into why so many extra people were living there without permission.
Lokayukta Justice B S Patil inspected the Government Science College Boys Hostel.
The hostel, sanctioned for 275 students, housed 373, leading to overcrowding.
Poor hygiene was noted with dirty toilets and inadequate cleaning schedules.
Students complained about substandard food quality and improperly cleaned cooking utensils.
An investigation is underway into the detected irregularities and illegal occupants.
