U.S. Trade Deficit Narrows Significantly in August
The amount of money that the U.S. spends on buying things from other countries (imports) was less than what it makes from selling things to other countries (exports) in August.
This is the smallest difference in a long time.
The number of things the U.S. bought from other countries went down, and the number of things it sold went up a little.
President Trump put tariffs on some things from other countries earlier this year, and this might have helped make this happen.
The U.S. economy is expected to grow more in the next few months.
U.S. trade deficit narrowed to $59.6 billion in August
This is the narrowest gap since October 2023
