BRS MLA Urges Paddy Cultivation Amid Nagarjuna Sagar Water Dispute

BRS MLA Urges Paddy Cultivation Amid Nagarjuna Sagar Water Dispute

A BRS leader asked farmers near the Nagarjuna Sagar left canal to grow paddy.

This went against advice from the Telangana government.

He said farmers were facing drought-like conditions because canal water had not been released.

He claimed enough water was available in the Srisailam and Nagarjuna Sagar projects.

He blamed the Congress government for not releasing the water.

He also accused Andhra Pradesh of diverting Krishna River water to the Veligonda project.

The BRS said it would hold protests to demand irrigation water.

K. Taraka Rama Rao plans to lead a march as part of the campaign.
