Congress protests in Sangareddy over stage cleaning insulting Kharge
A big political party called Congress held a protest in a town called Sangareddy.
They were upset because a stage where their leader Mallikarjun Kharge gave a speech was washed with special river water the next day.
Some people said the washing was done to 'purify' the stage because Kharge belongs to a community called Dalit.
Congress leaders said this was unfair and that people should not be treated differently because of their caste or religion.
They marched from one office to another and put flowers on statues of two respected leaders, Jyotirao Phule and Jagjivan Ram.
A leader named Deepak Rathore said the other party, BJP, is still treating Dalits unfairly.
He said Congress wants to keep the country united and peaceful.
He also mentioned that Rahul Gandhi, another Congress leader, is talking to students and young people to understand their problems.
Congress held a protest rally in Sangareddy against BJP leaders over the cleaning of a stage in Uttarakhand where Mallikarjun Kharge had delivered a speech.
The stage was reportedly cleaned the following day with Ganga water in the name of 'purification'.
Congress leaders alleged the purification was carried out because Kharge is a Dalit and accused BJP of practicing caste discrimination.
The rally, led by SC Cell District president Gangere Srihari, went from the IB to the MLA camp office, where statues of Jyotirao Phule and Jagjivan Ram were garlanded.
AICC Observer Deepak Rathore said party activists would continue to fight for unity, integrity and communal harmony, and noted Rahul Gandhi's outreach to students and youth.
