BJP Expands Uttar Pradesh Team Ahead of 2027 Assembly Polls

The BJP has chosen more leaders from Uttar Pradesh for important jobs in its national organisation.

The party wants these leaders to help prepare for the state election in early 2027.

Some of the chosen leaders recently lost elections, but BJP leaders say they can now spend more time doing organisational work.

The party also wants to promote younger leaders and connect better with young people.

Several appointments are aimed at reaching different social groups, including OBCs, Muslims, Dalits and Yadavs.

Smriti Irani has returned to a senior national role after losing the 2024 Amethi election.

The BJP says she can help challenge Congress leaders in Uttar Pradesh.

The party has also appointed Vinod Tawde and Jagdish Patel to improve coordination between its organisation and the state government.

BJP leaders say the broader team will help the party prepare for the 2027 state polls and the 2029 national elections.
