Can Salaried Employees Switch Tax Regimes?
When you file your taxes in India, you can choose how your income is taxed.
You can choose the 'old' tax system, which lets you save money through various investments and expenses, or the 'new' system, which has simpler rules and lower tax rates but fewer deductions.
Even if you told your employer which system you wanted, you can still change your mind and pick a different one when you file your taxes.
Make sure to compare which system helps you save the most money!
Salaried employees can choose a tax regime when filing ITR, regardless of employer declarations.
Two regimes are available: Old and New, each with different tax rates and deductions.
The old regime offers deductions like provident funds and home loans.
The new regime offers lower tax rates with fewer deductions.
Switching regimes requires comparing tax liability to optimize savings.
