Trump denies US missile stockpile shortage, warns leakers of jail
The president of the United States, Donald Trump, is telling everyone that America has lots and lots of missiles and weapons.
He says there is no shortage of them.
Some reporters at CNN said that the American military used up many of its special missiles during a big fight with Iran.
Trump said the people who shared that information are "leakers" and warned they could go to jail for a long time.
The military used almost 80 percent of its THAAD missiles, which help stop rockets from the sky.
It also used about half of its Patriot interceptors.
Some countries near Iran are worried because they use American defense systems to protect themselves.
They are afraid the US might not have enough missiles left to help them if they are attacked.
Trump still says the US has more munitions than anyone else in the world.
US President Donald Trump rejected claims that American military stockpiles were heavily depleted during the conflict with Iran, saying the US has "massive amounts" of munitions.
Trump warned that those leaking information about military inventories would face prosecution and long-term jail sentences, calling the statements "treasonous."
CNN reported, citing multiple sources, that US military commanders raised concerns over critically low stockpiles of some munitions, especially air defence interceptors.
The US military has depleted nearly 80 per cent of its THAAD missile inventory and used around half of its Patriot interceptors compared with pre-war levels, according to two sources.
US allies in the Gulf fear reduced availability of American air defence systems could weaken their ability to respond to possible Iranian missile and drone attacks.
