Rajasthan Land Transformed Into Green Oasis by Community Effort
Imagine a desert area that was not very healthy.
Some villagers decided to make it green again!
They worked with a government group and an organization to plant lots of trees and plants, including special bamboo that needs less water.
They also built things like a solar-powered well to help water the plants, and they used old food waste to make the soil better.
The project cost a little money, but now there are squirrels, peacocks, and butterflies living there!
This shows how people can help the environment and bring life back to dying land, and hopefully, other places will do the same thing.
A 25-acre barren patch in Rajasthan's Udaipur district was transformed into a green space.
The project, launched in July 2021, involved community effort and support from KVIC and an NGO.
Nearly 5,500 saplings were planted, including bamboo and fruit-bearing trees.
Infrastructure like a solar-powered borewell and a check-dam was developed to support the plantation.
The project cost approximately Rs 5 lakh and is seen as a model to fight desertification.
