BC Roy Market Traders Relocated for Metro Station Construction
The city is building a new metro station, and it's in the way of a market.
So, the people who sell things in the market have to move temporarily.
They're moving to a nearby place while the metro station is built.
After the station is done, they will get a new, permanent market built on top of it.
The people in charge are also figuring out if they can build a different station at another location.
The relocation of BC Roy Market traders has begun to make way for the Esplanade metro station.
RVNL is implementing the Joka-Esplanade corridor project.
80 shop owners will be relocated in the first phase.
A temporary market is being built at the Mounted Police Club to house the traders.
The permanent BC Roy Market is planned to be built atop the completed Esplanade station in three years.
