Delhi Metro ranks among top five most reliable globally
Delhi Metro is a big train system in Delhi, India.
The people who run it say it is one of the most reliable metro systems in the world.
Being reliable means the trains show up on time, almost every single time.
Delhi Metro says its trains were on time 99.95% of the time in 2026.
They only count a train as late if it arrives more than 59 seconds after it was supposed to arrive.
About 4.6 million people ride the Delhi Metro every day.
The trains can travel a very long distance before having any technical problems, which shows they are well maintained.
Delhi Metro also runs a huge driverless train network.
Its Line 7 is said to be the longest driverless metro line in the world.
Because of all this, the metro has won awards for being run so well.
Delhi Metro has ranked among the top five most reliable metro systems globally, based on international benchmarking by the Community of Metros (COMET).
DMRC reports train punctuality of 99.95% in 2026, counting a train as delayed only if it arrives more than 59 seconds behind schedule.
The network runs more than 4,300 trips daily and carries over 4.6 million passengers on an average day.
Delhi Metro operates India's largest driverless network, with Line 7 spanning 71.55 km and 45 stations as the world's longest driverless metro line.
In 2026, DMRC received the Achievement Award for Operational Excellence from the International Association of Public Transport.
