Toyota Hilux Facelift Lacks Global Features in India
Toyota made a new version of its popular pickup truck, the Hilux, for 2026.
In India, the truck has some changes compared to the versions sold around the world.
The seats are made of fabric instead of leather, and the front seats can only be moved by hand.
The Indian model also does not have a small electric helper that makes the engine run a bit better, and it keeps the older hydraulic steering system.
The back brakes are drum brakes, not the newer disc brakes, and the air‑conditioning is manual, not automatic.
These changes are meant to keep the price lower and make the truck more reliable for tough off‑road use.
Indian 2026 Hilux uses fabric seats instead of leatherette.
Manual front seat adjustments replace powered seats.
No 48V mild‑hybrid system, only standard diesel engine.
Keeps hydraulic power steering and rear drum brakes.
Omits automatic climate control, offering only manual AC.
