CBI confirms no animal fat in TTD ghee
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has confirmed that the ghee used in Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) does not contain any animal fat.
This was stated in a big report made by the CBI.
Scientists tested the ghee and found no animal fat.
The CBI asked for more tests after getting a report from a board in Gujarat, and the tests were done again, with the results given on March 27, 2025.
However, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has alleged that during the YSR Congress Party (YSRC) government's time, adulterated ghee was used in the preparation of Tirumala laddus.
They claim that this hurt the feelings of devotees and that there were irregularities in the procurement process.
The TDP organized a protest rally in Tirupati to highlight these issues.
The YSRC has sought anticipatory bail and court orders to restrain discussions on the matter.
CBI confirmed no animal fat in TTD ghee in a 600-page chargesheet.
ICAR-NDRI report stated no animal fat was detected in the ghee.
CBI sought further verification from NDDB after initial report.
NDDB conducted renewed tests and submitted findings on March 27, 2025.
TDP alleges adulterated ghee was used in Tirumala laddus during YSRC's tenure, claiming it hurt devotees' sentiments and involved irregularities in procurement.
