Maharashtra Leaders Debate Farmer Issues
Vijay Wadettiwar from the Congress party said the BJP-led government in Maharashtra is responsible for farmers killing themselves because they are not getting enough money for their crops.
He wants the government to give bonuses to farmers and fix problems in the farming sector.
He also said there are many problems with law and order in the state.
On the other hand, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said Maharashtra's finances are stable and the state is on track to become a trillion-dollar economy by 2030.
He said the government has given money to farmers and is working on big projects to help the state grow.
They both have different ideas about how to help farmers and make Maharashtra better.
Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar blamed the BJP-led government for farmer suicides in Maharashtra and demanded bonuses for soybean and paddy.
Wadettiwar alleged that the government's Rs 31,000-crore package for farmers was not fully implemented and only 34% of the agriculture budget was spent.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis acknowledged financial strain but asserted Maharashtra's economic stability, with borrowing within limits and a fiscal deficit below 3%.
Fadnavis highlighted Rs 15,007 crore transferred to farmers and a Rs 32,000-crore relief package, including support for infrastructure and livestock losses.
Fadnavis outlined Maharashtra's economic growth plans, including becoming a trillion-dollar economy by 2030, driven by FDI, infrastructure projects, and renewable energy investments.
