Mumbai Police Book Two Men Over Counterfeit Montair-LC Tablets

Mumbai police have recorded a case against two men accused of selling fake Montair-LC medicine.

The investigation began after officials received information about suspected fake medicines at a chemist in Kamathipura.

FDA officials collected several medicine samples for testing.

A laboratory found that the Montair-LC sample did not meet quality standards.

It had only 73.26% of the labelled Levocetirizine Hydrochloride.

The test also found no Montelukast Sodium, another listed ingredient.

Cipla said the medicine was counterfeit and was not made at its Sikkim factory.

Police are now trying to find out where the fake tablets came from and whether more people were involved.
