BSF Enhances Security on India-Bangladesh Border
The Border Security Force (BSF) has put up a new, strong fence along the India-Bangladesh border, especially in a place called the Chicken’s Neck region.
This fence is 12 feet high and is very hard to cut or climb.
They have also added cameras and other tools to watch the border better.
The BSF has been catching smugglers and stopping them from bringing in illegal things like gold, cattle, and drugs.
They have even rescued people who were being trafficked.
The BSF is also talking to the families of smugglers to stop them from doing illegal things.
They have had some big successes, like catching a smuggler with gold worth over Rs 5.47 crore.
The BSF is working hard to keep the border safe and is asking people to help them by sharing any information about smuggling.
BSF has introduced a 12-ft-high, anti-cutting, and anti-climbing fencing system along the India-Bangladesh border, covering 75% of the vulnerable Chicken’s Neck region.
Enhanced surveillance with cameras and area domination measures have strengthened border vigilance.
BSF has seized contraband worth Rs 8.5 crore, including gold, cattle, and arms, and apprehended 440 Bangladeshis and 152 Indians since January 2025.
A smuggler was caught with gold biscuits worth Rs 5.47 crore in Nadia district, marking a significant anti-smuggling success.
BSF has initiated community-centred projects and civic action programs to discourage border crimes and win the trust of border communities.
