BJP Faces Candidate List Controversies
The BJP in Maharashtra is facing some problems with their candidate lists for the upcoming city elections.
In Chandrapur, the city chief was removed from his job because the list of candidates he shared was different from the one announced by the state leader.
In Nanded, a former associate of ex-CM Ashok Chavan accused him of giving election tickets in exchange for money.
Ashok Chavan denied these allegations, saying he has never done anything like that in his 50-year career.
The elections are scheduled for January 15, 2024, and there is a lot of discontent among party workers about how the candidates are being chosen.
BJP's Chandrapur city unit chief Subhash Kasangottuwar was removed for allegedly tampering with the candidate list.
The list shared by Kasangottuwar did not match the one announced by BJP state president Ravindra Chavan.
Ex-CM Ashok Chavan was accused of giving election tickets in exchange for Rs 50 lakh by Bhanusing Rawat, a long-time associate.
Chavan denied the allegations, stating he has a clean record in his 50-year career.
Elections for 29 municipal corporations in Maharashtra, including Nanded, are scheduled for January 15, 2024.
