Hyderabad's Musi River Honors Mahatma Gandhi

After Mahatma Gandhi's death, his ashes were divided and spread across different places to remember him.

One part of his ashes was brought to Hyderabad in 1948 and immersed at the meeting point of the Musi and Esi rivers.

This happened even though there were rules in place at that time.

A special place called Bapu Ghat was built there to remember him.

The Telangana government is planning to improve Bapu Ghat into a better tourist spot.
