Gwalior Women Protest Liquor Shop, Reject Ladli Behna Funds

Women in a village near Gwalior protested against a liquor shop.

They said drinking was hurting their families and making the area unsafe.

Some women broke liquor bottles and blocked the road.

They also complained about harassment and nearby unauthorised food carts.

The protesters said they would refuse money from the Ladli Behna scheme if the shop remained open.

Police officer Gagan Hanwat came with a team to speak with them.

The women cleared the road after receiving promises of an investigation.

They warned that they would protest again if the shop was not permanently closed.
