Amra Bangali Burns Effigy, Blames Left for Tripura Violence

Amra Bangali Burns Effigy, Blames Left for Tripura Violence

Imagine two groups in Tripura having a big argument about something that happened long ago.

One group, called Amra Bangali, is really angry at the former leader of Tripura and his party, the CPI(M).

They burned a pretend figure of the former leader to show their anger.

Amra Bangali says the former leader's party didn't protect people during a bad fight a long time ago, and that they even helped the people who caused the trouble.

They believe the former leader is wrongly accusing them of bad things.

The former leader's party has not responded directly.

Amra Bangali says over 6,000 people were killed in the 1980 riots and that the government at the time didn't do enough to stop the violence.
