Vizianagaram Police Seek Custody of Accused in Explosives Case
Police in Vizianagaram are trying to get permission to question two men, Siraj and Sameer, who were arrested for having explosives.
These men are accused of breaking the law against unlawful activities and the explosives laws.
They were sent to jail for two weeks while the investigation continues.
One of the men, Siraj, is said to have been talking to someone in the Middle East for a year and may have been planning to use the explosives.
The police are checking bank accounts and social media to find out who else was involved and if there are any connections to terrorist groups.
Though there were reports about him traveling to the Middle East, his passport doesn't reflect that.
Vizianagaram police await custody of Siraj and Sameer, arrested for possessing explosives.
The accused are booked under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and the Explosives Act.
Siraj, a B.Tech graduate, allegedly communicated with a handler from the Middle East for a year.
