Aadhaar Becomes Mandatory for PAN Applications in India
Starting July 1, 2025, if you want a new PAN card, you'll need an Aadhaar card.
This is like the government making sure everyone's ID is correct, and it helps stop people from cheating on their taxes.
If you already have a PAN card, make sure it's linked to your Aadhaar by the end of 2025, or it might not work anymore.
Aadhaar will be mandatory for new PAN card applications starting July 1, 2025.
This aims to tighten identity verification and prevent misuse of PAN cards.
Applicants will use Aadhaar as the sole verification credential.
Existing PAN holders must link with Aadhaar by December 31, 2025.
Failure to link will render PANs inoperative from January 2026.
