Eight Bansujara Dam Gates Opened Amid Heavy Rains

Eight Bansujara Dam Gates Opened Amid Heavy Rains

Heavy rain caused more water to flow into Bansujara Dam.

Officials opened eight dam gates to let some of the extra water out.

About 792 cubic metres of water per second will enter the Dhasan River.

This could make the river seven to nine feet higher downstream.

The dam is between Chhatarpur and Tikamgarh districts.

Officials warned people near the river to stay away from the water.

They also asked residents to follow safety instructions.

More gates may be opened if even more water flows into the dam.
