Padma Shri Honors Dholak Player Amid Voter List Controversy
A famous dholak player named Mir Haji Kasam, also known as Haji Ramakdu, was given a special award called the Padma Shri.
But before this, someone from the BJP party said his name shouldn't be on the voter list because it didn't match his other documents.
The BJP person said they were confused because the names were different.
Mir Haji Kasam is very happy about the award and says he has all the right documents.
The BJP person says it's up to the officials to check if the names belong to the same person.
The Congress party is upset and wants the BJP person to be punished for this.
Mir Haji Kasam, a 74-year-old dholak player, was named a Padma Shri awardee.
BJP corporator Sanjay Manvara objected to Kasam's name in the voter list due to a name discrepancy.
The Congress party demanded legal action against the BJP corporator for objecting to the name of a respected artist.
Kasam expressed his happiness about the Padma Shri award and clarified that he has all necessary documents.
