Telangana Seeks NDSA Guidance on KLIS Barrages

Telangana Seeks NDSA Guidance on KLIS Barrages

The Telangana government is asking for help from the National Dam Safety Authority (NDSA) to decide how to operate three big water structures called barrages in the Kaleshwaram lift irrigation scheme.

These barrages are currently letting water flow freely because of safety concerns.

The state government wants to make sure it's safe to start pumping water from these barrages before making any decisions.

They are waiting for clear advice from the NDSA.

The Union Jal Shakti Ministry has said that states should decide how to operate these structures, but they haven't given specific advice about the NDSA's recommendations.

The state government is being careful and won't make decisions based on politics or just looking at the structures.

They are also dealing with some problems found in the foundations of one of the barrages.
