Kerala Police Link Teen Murder Plan to Mahesh Babu’s Spyder
Police in Kerala are investigating the death of a 65-year-old man named Sivankutty Chettiyar.
Four teenagers, including his 13-year-old granddaughter, have been taken into custody.
Police suspect the girl planned the killing.
They say the teenagers discussed using an idea from the movie Spyder.
In the movie, a police officer investigates a dangerous serial killer and several planned attacks occur.
The teenagers allegedly considered entering through the roof and dropping a large stone on the sleeping man.
Police say they later entered through an opening near a ventilator.
Cash and gold were missing, so investigators first thought the crime might have been a robbery.
The investigation is still continuing.
Kerala police say four minors allegedly planned the Karuvatta killing after discussing a scene from Spyder.
The 65-year-old victim, Sivankutty Chettiyar, was found dead inside his rented house after it remained locked for two days.
Police suspect the victim’s 13-year-old granddaughter planned the killing and that the other teenagers carried it out.
Investigators initially suspected robbery because cash and gold ornaments were missing from the house.
Police say the stolen valuables may have been intended to buy an iPhone and motorcycles, while a possible family grudge is also being examined.
