PM Modi Pays Tribute to Partition Victims, Calls for Harmony

In 1947, India was split into two countries in a painful event called the Partition.

Many families had to leave their homes, and a lot of people were hurt or lost their lives.

About 20 million people were affected, making it one of the biggest moves of people in history.

Every year on August 14, India remembers the people who suffered during that time.

In 2026, India's leader, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, asked everyone to remember how brave the victims were.

He said they rebuilt their lives from nothing and helped the country grow.

He asked everyone to stay together, be kind, and keep peace in the nation.

Home Minister Amit Shah called it one of the cruelest chapters in history and blamed the Congress party for the division.

Other leaders, including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, JP Nadda and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, also remembered the victims.

The leaders want young people to learn from this sad event so India stays strong and united.
