Floating Cinema Brings Classic Films to Dal Lake During Festival

Floating Cinema Brings Classic Films to Dal Lake During Festival

A film festival in Jammu and Kashmir created a cinema on Dal Lake.

People watched movies on a large floating screen.

They sat along the shore while the films played over the water.

The first movie shown was “Junglee,” released in 1961.

Families, visitors and movie fans came to see it.

The floating cinema also showed “Kashmir Ki Kali.”

That movie starred Shammi Kapoor and Sharmila Tagore.

The final planned screening is “Kabhi Kabhie” on September 10.

Organizers said the setting connects movies with Kashmir’s landscapes and history.
