Myanmar Insurgents Launch Cross-Border Drone Attack in Manipur
A group of rebels from Myanmar called the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) flew drones across the border to attack a military camp in India.
This happened in a place called Manipur, near the border between India and Myanmar.
The attack injured four soldiers.
The rebels released a video showing how they did it.
They used the drones to drop bombs on the camp.
The rebels are hiding in a hilly area in Myanmar, close to the Indian border.
Indian officials are worried because the Myanmar Army might be helping these rebels.
This attack is a new challenge for India, especially while they are trying to keep peace in Manipur.
The People’s Liberation Army (PLA), a banned Meitei insurgent group, carried out a drone attack on an Assam Rifles outpost in Manipur on November 28.
The attack injured four Assam Rifles troopers and was the first aerial strike of its kind in the region.
The PLA released a video showing the drone attack, codenamed 'Operation LANG-OL', which involved dropping three bombs on the outpost.
The militants are believed to be hiding in Min Thar, a hilly terrain in Sagaing, Myanmar, within 2 km of the Indian border, with an estimated 800-1000 militants.
Indian officials are concerned about the Myanmar Army's potential support for these insurgent groups, which poses a new security challenge in Manipur.
