Google's AI Notification Organizer Reduces Pixel Clutter
Google has made a new update for Pixel phones that uses AI to organise notifications.
This feature groups notifications into categories like Promotions, News, Social, and Suggested.
It keeps these grouped notifications silent and under a 'Silent' section, so they don't make sounds or vibrate.
Important notifications, like messages from close contacts, still appear normally at the top.
Users can choose which categories are managed and can also decide to always see the grouped notifications expanded.
This update is currently available for Pixel 9 and Pixel 10 series phones in several countries, including Australia, Canada, Germany, Japan, the UK, and the US.
Other Android devices might get similar features in the future.
Google's new AI notification organiser categorises and silences lower-priority alerts on Pixel devices.
Notifications are grouped into categories like Promotions, News, Social, and Suggested using on-device AI.
High-priority notifications, such as messages from selected contacts, still appear normally at the top.
Users can customise which categories are managed and choose to always expand bundled notifications.
The feature is rolling out to Pixel 9 and Pixel 10 series devices in select countries with Android 16 updates.
