Bhopal Halalpur Firecracker Market Shift Stalled Ahead Of Diwali
The firecracker market in Halalpur, Bhopal, is still in its old location.
It has many shops and large warehouses.
Officials wanted to move it away from homes to make the area safer.
They considered three new locations, including Bairagarh Kalan.
However, one inspected site did not have the safety arrangements needed for a firecracker market.
The licences of 15 traders were cancelled after the inspection.
The traders challenged that decision in the High Court.
Because of the legal case and safety concerns, the market may not move before Dussehra and Diwali.
The Halalpur firecracker market, with 15 wholesale shops and five warehouses, has not moved.
