Mumbai Crime Branch Rescues Minor, Arrests Two in Trafficking Case

Mumbai police say they rescued a 16-year-old girl from an alleged trafficking racket.

They arrested two people, Saba Parveen Khan and Mohammed Yusuf Sheikh.

Police allege the girl was promised domestic work and then forced into prostitution.

They say Sheikh ran the operation from a room in a chawl, while Khan helped bring the girl there.

Police say they used a decoy customer and made arrests after an alleged ₹10,000 transaction.

The girl was counselled after her rescue.

Police also reported burn marks and said she described physical abuse at home.

With help from an NGO, she was moved to a shelter home.

Police are investigating whether anyone else was involved.
