Mamata Banerjee, TMC Leaders Detained During Delhi Protest

Mamata Banerjee and five leaders from her party wanted to join a protest in Delhi.

The protest was about changes to voter lists, which the organisers say had irregularities.

They wanted Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar to resign.

Banerjee’s group says police stopped them from going to Jantar Mantar, so they sat down near a bus stop.

Police detained the group and took them away in a vehicle.

Banerjee said the way they were treated was wrong and compared it to being kidnapped.

Arvind Kejriwal was also detained while heading toward the protest.

Opposition parties planned another protest march for Monday.
