Delta flight drops to 9,000 feet after pressurisation failure

A Delta airplane had trouble keeping the air pressure inside the cabin normal.

This happened shortly before the plane was supposed to land in Salt Lake City.

The airplane quickly flew down to about 9,000 feet.

Oxygen masks dropped so passengers could use them during the descent.

Some passengers reported ear pain and said the experience was frightening.

The pilots then diverted the plane to Las Vegas.

The plane landed safely there and later continued to Salt Lake City.

Reports suggested a small valve or software problem may have caused the issue.
