Canada Reopens Parent and Grandparent Sponsorship for 2025
Canada is letting people sponsor their parents and grandparents to come live there.
If you signed up in 2020 but didn't get picked before, you might get an invitation.
If you get one, you need to fill out two applications: one to sponsor them and one for them to become permanent residents.
There's a fee involved, and you need to submit documents and go through some checks, like medical exams and police certificates.
The whole process is online, and you can keep track of your application.
Canada reopened its Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP) for 2025.
Invitations to Apply (ITAs) are being issued by lottery.
Only those who submitted an interest-to-sponsor form in 2020 and did not receive an invitation are eligible.
Selected applicants must complete a sponsorship and a permanent residence application.
The base fee for sponsoring a parent or grandparent is CAD 1,205.
