Employers Aware of PM-VBRY but Participation Lags
A new report shows that most Indian employers know about a government program called PM-VBRY, which helps businesses hire more people.
However, not many are using it.
Big companies know more about it than small ones.
The program offers money to help hire and train people, but most employers are interested in the long-term benefits like better skills and keeping employees, rather than just the short-term money.
The report suggests that the government and businesses need to work together to make more people use this program so that more jobs can be created.
81% of Indian employers are aware of the PM-VBRY scheme, but only 60.4% of those planning to hire are familiar with it.
Awareness is highest among large enterprises (83%) and lowest among start-ups and micro businesses (5.4%).
Skill development is the top motivation for participation, cited by 51.8% of employers.
Direct hiring incentives are less of a motivator, with only 18.6% of employers prioritizing them.
Awareness varies by industry, with FMCG and EV infrastructure leading, and educational services lagging.
