North Bengal Adventure Clubs Unite for Himalayan Expedition
A group of six adventure clubs from North Bengal have teamed up to climb a tall mountain called Mount Pologongka in Ladakh.
They're calling themselves "Team North Bengal" and will start in Delhi, head to Manali, and then to Ladakh to reach the mountain.
There are 12 climbers and a few support staff helping them.
The expedition is led by an experienced climber and will also have two guides and two kitchen staff.
The main reason for doing this together is that it's hard for a single club to pay for such a big adventure on their own, and the combined approach will encourage other young people to participate in mountaineering.
They will reach the base camp on July 7th and plan to reach the summit around July 12 or 13.
Six North Bengal adventure clubs launched a joint expedition.
A 12-member team will attempt to summit Mount Pologongka in Ladakh.
The expedition was flagged off by Col Rajneesh Joshi of the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute.
The team, named "Team North Bengal", will establish multiple camps.
The joint effort aims to overcome financial challenges and promote mountaineering.
