Owaisi Announces AIMIM's Independent Run in Telangana
Asaduddin Owaisi, the leader of the AIMIM party, said his party will contest the upcoming municipal elections in Telangana by itself.
He made this announcement after his party did well in the Maharashtra municipal polls, winning at least 114 wards.
Owaisi called the Maharashtra results a big victory and dismissed claims that certain areas were strongholds of other parties.
He also addressed speculations about a possible alliance with the BJP, saying he had already spoken about it and would not comment further.
Owaisi believes that democracy is about competition and not about loyalty to one party.
He also talked about the importance of elections in keeping the ruling parties accountable.
Additionally, he expressed concern about recent attacks on places of worship in Hyderabad, blaming weak police intelligence and ineffective peace committees for these incidents.
