Kolkata Metro Gets Nod For Kidderpore Station Land
The Kolkata Metro is getting a new part of its Purple Line built!
The state government had stopped the project because of land issues in Kidderpore.
Now, they've agreed, and the metro can go ahead.
The government wants to make sure the police buildings and a washing area aren't damaged during construction, and those things will be temporarily moved to make space for building.
Construction will start soon, with the temporary relocation of utilities.
Kolkata Metro received clearance to proceed with the Purple Line extension.
The state government previously blocked land access for the Kidderpore station.
The Kolkata Municipal Corporation issued a letter with conditions for construction.
The Dhobi Lines and police barracks inside the Police Lines must remain unaffected.
Utilities will be temporarily shifted to facilitate construction.
