Indian Market Rebounds: Sensex Climbs, Nifty Nears 25,200
Imagine the Indian stock market is like a playground.
On this day, it had a good day, with the Sensex and Nifty indices both increasing.
The market was boosted by investors buying shares in companies in the auto and banking sectors, possibly because of expectations of new trade talks between India and the US.
The small companies did better than the mid-sized ones.
Many stocks went up, but some, including those of the large companies, went down.
The stock Aegis Logistics had a significant rally, but overall the market remained fairly stable with more stocks up than down.
Sensex rose 436.30 points (0.53%) to 82,222.04.
Nifty 50 increased by 129.55 points (0.52%) and neared the 25,200 level.
Smallcap index outperformed the midcap index.
Kotak Mahindra Bank, L&T, and Axis Bank led Nifty 50 gainers.
Shriram Finance, Tata Consumer Products, and Bajaj Finance were among the losers.
