Karnataka to hold all-party meet on Cauvery water issue

Karnataka to hold all-party meet on Cauvery water issue

Karnataka has been told to release a certain amount of water from the Cauvery river to Tamil Nadu.

Karnataka says it doesn't have enough water, even for drinking, and is not happy about this.

The Chief Minister of Karnataka wants to have a meeting with all political parties to discuss what to do.

Tamil Nadu wants its share of water and doesn't like Karnataka's plan to build a dam called Mekedatu.

Karnataka says it will release water when it has enough, and the Prime Minister can't decide this—only the court can.

Both states are trying to talk and solve the problem, but some people are protesting.
