Mumbai Sweet Shop Suspended After Stapler Pin Found
A man in Mumbai bought a sweet called kaju katli from a shop on Charni Road.
He found a rusty stapler pin inside one of the sweets and told his daughter not to eat it.
He posted about it on Instagram and went to the shop to complain.
The food safety agency, the FDA, looked at the shop and found problems with cleanliness.
They took a sample of the sweets to test them and decided to stop the shop’s licence until they fix the issues.
The shop’s licence is now suspended, meaning it can’t sell sweets until it passes safety checks again.
A customer found a rusty stapler pin in a sweet from Tewari Bros. Mithaiwala.
The complaint was made on Instagram and filed with the Maharashtra FDA.
FDA officials inspected the Charni Road outlet and found hygiene lapses.
A sample of the sweets was taken for laboratory testing.
The shop’s FSSAI licence was suspended pending further investigation.
