Kishor Wins Bankipur Bypoll, Calls for New Bihar Chief Minister
Prashant Kishor, the leader of a new political party, won a local election in the Bankipur area of Bihar.
He beat the BJP candidate by about 19,000 votes.
Kishor said the win shows people want a better chief minister for Bihar, not just a new lawmaker.
He criticized the BJP’s current leaders and said the state needs better jobs, schools, and fewer people leaving for work elsewhere.
The election happened after the BJP’s top leader, Nitin Nabin, left the seat to join the national parliament.
Many people think this loss is a big blow to the BJP, which had held the seat for 30 years.
Prashant Kishor of Jan Suraaj Party won the Bankipur Assembly bypoll by about 19,000 votes.
He said the result sends a clear message to the BJP’s top leadership to appoint a good chief minister for Bihar.
Kishor criticized BJP leaders, especially Samrat Chaudhary and Nitin Nabin, and called for better education, employment and anti‑migration policies.
The bypoll was triggered after BJP national president Nitin Nabin vacated the seat to join the Rajya Sabha.
The victory is seen as a major setback for the BJP, which had held the seat for three decades.
