Stalker Injured in Police Encounter After Shooting Teen
A young man named Jatin is accused of shooting a teenage girl, Kanishka, who was on her way home from a library.
She was hurt in her shoulder and stomach.
Police caught Jatin a couple of days later.
When the police took him to a village to find hidden guns, he grabbed a gun and shot at the police.
The police shot him back in the leg, and he is now in the hospital.
The police believe Jatin had been bothering Kanishka.
Her family had spoken to his family about his behavior before, but they didn't go to the police then.
The police have found a gun and some bullets.
Jatin, 20, was arrested for allegedly shooting a 17-year-old girl twice in Faridabad.
The girl was injured in her shoulder and abdomen as she returned from a library on Monday evening.
Police arrested Jatin on Wednesday and he was shot in the leg during an alleged encounter while trying to escape.
During the encounter, Jatin reportedly fired at the police who then fired back in self-defense.
A previous warning from the victim's family to Jatin's mother about his stalking behavior may have prevented an earlier police complaint.
