Mizoram Promotes Tourism Through Music Festivals and Local Products
Mizoram is trying to attract more visitors by using music festivals.
They recently had a music festival where local singers and others from across India performed.
Besides music, there were also stalls selling food and local crafts.
The government believes music and culture are very important to their identity and that these festivals help both tourism and people's jobs.
They are planning more events, like a winter festival and a New Year's Eve celebration.
The state has already seen many tourists, with most foreign visitors coming from Myanmar.
Mizoram government is using music festivals to promote tourism and boost local livelihoods.
The Leitlangpui Music Festival featured performances by local and national singers, alongside stalls selling local products.
Minister Lalnghinglova Hmar stated that music and culture are integral to Mizo identity.
The state plans to organize the Aizawl Winter Festival from December 15-23 and a program on December 31.
