SC Panel Gives Conditional Nod to Buddha Jayanti Park Upgrade
Imagine a park in Delhi, Buddha Jayanti Park, that is getting a makeover!
The government wants to make it better.
The plan includes new gardens, paths, and water systems.
Before they can start, they needed permission because the park is near a protected forest.
A special committee looked at the plans and said it's okay, but they have to follow some rules.
They must protect the trees and plant new ones.
This will help make the park nicer for everyone and protect the environment at the same time.
The CEC has approved a two-phase upgrade of Buddha Jayanti Park.
The CPWD must seek Union government approval under the Forest (Conservation) Act.
Phase 1 involves water storage and pipelines.
Phase 2 includes renovations, themed gardens, and new amenities.
Conditions include protecting trees and planting indigenous species.
