ArcelorMittal Invests $0.9B in 1GW India Clean Energy Projects
ArcelorMittal is investing $0.9 billion to build three new clean energy projects in India.
These projects will create 1GW of solar and wind energy in Maharashtra, Rajasthan, and Gujarat.
Once finished, they will double ArcelorMittal's green energy capacity in India to 2GW and help reduce a lot of carbon emissions.
The power from these projects will supply AMNS India, a joint venture between ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel.
The projects are expected to be completed between 2027 and 2028 and will provide 35% of the electricity needed for AMNS India's steelmaking operations in Hazira.
