NCISM Derecognises Nine Private Ayurvedic Colleges in Madhya Pradesh

A medical regulator has withdrawn permission from nine private Ayurvedic colleges in Madhya Pradesh.

This means the colleges cannot admit students under the stated permission for the 2026-27 academic year.

The regulator said the colleges did not follow required rules and lacked some needed facilities.

The action could remove 650 seats from the state's 3,000 BAMS seats.

Students who hoped to study Ayurveda may therefore have fewer places available.

The decision also affects students who may already be enrolled.

Officials found that some doctors were listed as working at the colleges but were not actually present.

The report lists seven colleges by name even though it says nine were derecognised.
