Japanese Scientists Develop Biodegradable Plastic Alternative
Scientists in Japan have created a new type of plastic that's good for the environment.
It's made from something called PDCA, which is similar to regular plastic but breaks down naturally.
They use special bacteria to turn sugar into this new plastic, which is much cleaner than making plastic the old way.
This new plastic is just as good as the old one and can be used in many things, from packaging to clothes.
Because it breaks down, it helps get rid of plastic waste and makes manufacturing cleaner.
This is a big step toward helping the planet!
Japanese scientists developed a biodegradable alternative to PET plastics.
The alternative uses a compound called PDCA.
PDCA has comparable or superior physical properties to PET plastic.
The bio-manufacturing process uses genetically engineered bacteria.
The process aims to reduce pollution and reliance on fossil fuels.
