30 Families Receive Land After 33 Years
A long time ago, in 1992, a big flood in Assam made many families lose their homes and land.
For 33 years, these families lived in temporary shelters without proper homes or land.
Recently, the government gave 30 of these families land to live on and farm.
This land was donated by kind tea estate owners.
The families are very happy because now they have a permanent place to call home and can build a better future for their children.
The government is also helping more families like these to get land and homes.
30 families displaced by the 1992 Brahmaputra floods received land allotment in Tinsukia, Assam.
Families had been living in makeshift camps for 33 years without permanent land.
Land was donated by Kesaguri Tea Estate (20 bighas) and Brindaban Tea Estate (4 bighas).
Each family received legal land documents ensuring permanent ownership.
The government is committed to rehabilitating more flood and erosion-affected families in the region.
