Delhi Court Discharges 9 Accused in Minor's Gangrape Case
A judge in Delhi decided that nine people accused of a serious crime against a young person would not go to trial.
The judge explained that the stories told by the victim and her mom kept changing a lot, which made them untrustworthy.
Also, the police couldn't find a video that was supposed to show the crime happening, even though they looked for it.
Some of the accused also had proof they weren't even in the city when the crime allegedly occurred.
Because there wasn't enough solid evidence to be sure these people might have done it, and it seemed like more of a guess, the judge let them go.
The judge also said that some money given to the girl earlier needs to be returned.
Nine individuals accused in a gangrape case involving a minor have been discharged by a Delhi court.
The court cited significant contradictions in statements from the victim and her mother as a reason for discharge.
Evidence suggested some accused were not in Delhi at the time of the alleged offenses.
The court noted the absence of a crucial video evidence despite allegations it existed.
The judge stated the case was based on 'mere suspicion' and not sufficient to proceed to trial, ordering the recovery of Rs 3.75 lakh in interim compensation.
